Recently, writing about AI every day has almost turned me into a tech blogger. Originally, this WeChat Official Account was just for recording my study notes during the entrepreneurial process: following Feynman's learning method, output is the best way to learn. Indeed, I have made great progress in learning over the past two years. Today, I want to talk about a topic that I often discuss with my therapist in psychological counseling:
, and solve them step by step according to priority.
. Recently, I've read some books and watched videos related to system dynamics, and I found that most of the problems we face are manifestations of complex systems. Trying to analyze problems with simple binary thinking like "0 and 1" or "right and wrong" often fails to touch their essence.
As Hinton said:
"Symbolists always say our essence is reasoning machines, which is complete nonsense. Our essence is analogy machines. Perhaps we add a little reasoning on top so that we notice and correct when analogies give wrong answers."
This statement highlights the key to dealing with complex problems: discovering errors in analogies and correcting them through reasoning. Understanding complexity requires accepting its uncertainty and diversity rather than trying to define it with simple rules.
is an adaptive ability that allows us to remain calm and resilient in the face of uncertainty.
Psychological flexibility has several core characteristics:
Being able to clearly recognize one's own emotions and state, while also being sensitive to others' emotions and needs.
Flexibly responding to challenges without being limited to a single mode of thinking, and being able to try multiple strategies.
When experiencing emotional fluctuations, being able to find ways to ease emotions and avoid lingering in negative emotions for long periods.
when facing disappointment and setbacks. It is a comprehensive ability and an important pillar of mental health.

Psychological flexibility is like a tree
A flexible trunk can sway with the wind without breaking in a storm. In contrast, rigid trees are more likely to crack in storms. Similarly, those who have walked out of severe trauma and stood firm again do so because they possess such psychological resilience. Psychological flexibility helps us calmly deal with the complexity and uncertainty of life, and allows us to still find the direction of growth in the midst of storms.
